These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the SPL Teachers website, the SPL Calculator, and SPL Plus Access. By using our website or creating an account, you agree to these terms in full.
1. About Us
SPL Teachers provides tools and resources to help teachers understand and plan maternity, paternity, and Shared Parental Leave. Our website offers both free features and a paid upgrade called SPL Plus Access.
2. Use of the SPL Calculator
The SPL Calculator is designed to help you understand your potential leave structure and pay based on the information you enter. While we take great care to ensure accuracy, the results generated are for guidance only and should not be treated as professional, legal, or financial advice.
It is your responsibility to confirm all calculations with your employer, HR department, or governing body.
3. User Accounts
To access certain features, including saving calculations, you must create an account.
- You must provide accurate and truthful information.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- You must not share your account or allow others to access it.
You may delete your account at any time through your profile page. Account deletion immediately and permanently removes:
- Your profile information
- All saved SPL Calculations
- All payment history except legally required transaction metadata
This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
4. SPL Plus Access
4.1 About SPL Plus Access
SPL Plus Access is a one-off payment that provides enhanced features including advanced salary breakdowns, detailed planning tools, and extended calculation options. Each purchase provides 30 days of access from the time of activation.
4.2 Payment
All payments are processed securely through a third-party payment provider (e.g., Stripe). We do not store or access your full card details.
4.3 Length of Access
Your SPL Plus Access begins immediately after a successful payment and lasts for 30 consecutive days.
There are no recurring payments and no automatic renewals.
4.4 Cancellation
You may request cancellation of your SPL Plus Access, but the following applies:
- You may only request cancellation after at least 2 days have passed since your purchase.
- This requirement exists to prevent misuse of the tools within the initial access window.
- Once a cancellation request is approved and processed, your SPL Plus Access will be immediately removed, regardless of how much time remains in your 30-day period.
No refunds will be issued for partially used access periods unless legally required.
4.5 Free Extensions
You may request a free extension of your SPL Plus Access if:
- The extension is for the same pregnancy
- The tools are being used legitimately and in good faith
If it appears that the extension is being used for a different pregnancy or for multiple users, we reserve the right to deny the extension request or revoke access without refund.
5. Fair Use Policy
SPL Plus Access is intended for use by a single user planning their own leave. The following is not permitted:
- Account sharing
- Using the calculator for multiple individuals or third parties
- Distributing SPL Plus data, content, or calculations externally
Violation of this policy may result in account suspension or termination without refund.
6. Temporary Calculations (Logged-out Users)
When using the calculator without logging in, temporary data may be generated to allow the calculator to function. These temporary calculations:
- Are not linked to any identifiable user
- Do not contain account-based or personal profile data
- Are automatically removed after a short period
7. Intellectual Property
All content, tools, branding, calculator logic, and design elements are the property of SPL Teachers. Users may not copy, distribute, or modify any content without prior written permission.
8. Website Availability
We aim to keep the site available at all times, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, updates, or unexpected issues may temporarily affect availability.
9. Limitation of Liability
SPL Teachers is not responsible for:
- Decisions made based on calculator outputs
- Employer or HR interpretations of leave and pay
- Incorrect results caused by inaccurate information entered by the user
- Loss of access due to cancellation or misuse
- Downtime or technical issues
While every effort is made to ensure accuracy, the calculator provides guidance only and is not a substitute for official employer or HR verification.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. If significant changes are made, we may notify users via email or website notice. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of any updated Terms.
