This Privacy Policy explains how SPL Teachers (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use the SPL Calculator, create an account, or access any part of our website.
Your privacy is extremely important to us. We only collect information that is necessary for your account to function and for you to use and save your SPL calculations.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
When you create an account or use the SPL Calculator, you may provide:
- Account information: first name, last name, email address, and password (securely hashed).
- Calculator information: maternity dates, due date, salary information, OMP/SPL preferences, school holiday selections, and any other details entered into the calculator.
- Saved calculations: all SPL Calculations linked to your user account.
1.2 Automatically Collected Information
We may automatically collect certain technical data such as:
- IP address
- Browser and device type
- Pages visited and general usage patterns
We do not use advertising trackers or profiling cookies.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used only to:
- Operate the SPL Calculator
- Allow you to save, view, and manage calculations
- Provide secure login access
- Improve the calculator’s accuracy and performance
- Respond to support queries
- Comply with legal and security requirements
We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing or advertising.
3. Who Can See Your Data
3.1 You
You have full access to your account details and any SPL Calculations you save.
3.2 Admin (Restricted)
Platform administrators may access calculations or account details only when necessary to provide support or maintain site functionality. Passwords are always securely hashed and cannot be viewed.
3.3 No One Else
Your information and calculations are private and are never visible to other users.
4. Deleting Your Account and Data
You may delete your account at any time from your profile area. When you delete your account:
- All personal information is permanently erased
- All saved SPL Calculations are permanently deleted
- No trace of your account or data remains
This satisfies GDPR’s “Right to be Forgotten”.
5. Temporary Calculations
Some calculations are stored as temporary entries to allow the calculator to function correctly for users who are not logged in. These temporary calculations are not attached to any identifiable user and do not contain account information. They exist only for your active session and may be automatically deleted after a short period.
Saved calculations created by logged-in users are tied to your account and can only be deleted by you — either individually or by deleting your entire account.

We process your data under the following lawful bases:
- Performance of a contract: to provide your account and saved calculations.
- Legitimate interest: ensuring platform security and calculator performance.
- Consent: when you choose to save calculations or create an account.
- Legal obligation: where required for fraud prevention or security.
8. Data Security
We take strong precautions to protect your information, including:
